The membership of this Union is open to:
- Anyone who is at least 18 years of age and whose direct parents (either mother or father) is or was a native of Nkwerre
- Anyone who is at least 18 years of age and who has a marital relationship with a native of Nkwerre.
- Anyone who is at least 18 years of age, born in Nkwerre by natives of other towns and whose parents have lived in Nkwerre for more than 10 years. This category of members shall be referred to as naturalized citizens. Naturalized citizens of Nkwerre shall be required to demonstrate their qualification and obtain from the executive special membership permission.
Members have the following obligations to the Union:
- Participation in deliberations and development of the constitution
- Participation in deliberations and amendment of the constitution
- Payment of annual dues and fees as prescribed in the constitution
- Payment of levies as prescribed in the constitution
- Election and /or appointment of executive officers
- Attendance and participation in the deliberations at general meetings
- Attendance and participation in the execution of the Union’s functions
